TIGA Race Cars

TIGA Race Cars are now producing new bodywork for their 1977/8/9 Formula Ford 1600 cars. A customer is building a replica of James Weaver's 1979 Scorpion Racing car an TIGA Racee Cars are producing the bodywork for it from the original moulds. The panels are being finished in gelcoat in the famous red and yellow colours of James Weaver's 1979 car.

I am so pleased to hear that a replica of the TIGA Tim (Schenken) & Howden (Ganley) ran for me in 1979 is being built by a customer of the new owners of TIGA Race Cars. Warwick Atkin ran the car back in the day & it was always beautifully prepared & looked superb. It drove as well as it looked & had some very clever side pods that produced download & also less drag than the standard flat alloy panels that most people ran.

This was a winning combination as the car was quick everywhere & was always the pace setter on a wet track. We should have won the championship, but I hurt myself in a Sports 2000 car & missed a few races, which was a shame for TIGA as the car was the class of the field.

I am really looking forward to seeing the car when it is finished!
